Curated Audio News Platforms : your News Update

Google released its audio news feature, titled ‘Your News Update,’ on Google Podcasts. Listeners are able to subscribe through the Google Podcasts app, using the Explore tab. Following this, they can subscribe and consume a number of different stories in audio formats. Users will be exposed to audio news that correlates to their specific interests, location, listening history and more.

The ‘Your News Update’ feature operates using machine learning to understand the news and how that corresponds to the user’s interests. Additionally, as the feature is used more Google’s algorithm can curate stories that better fit the listener’s preferences. Google will also use all of the information it knows about a user to compile news stories.
